Peucang Island Dive Tour

The Ujung Kulon National Park was created by the Dutch in the late 1800's as a preserve for the Javanese Black Rhino. Located only a few hours from Jakarta, the amount of wildlife found in this park today is hard to fathom. But the waters surrounding this isolated reserve add yet another perspective to anyone's dive experience. we services both the wildlife adventurist and the scuba diving enthusiasts with a very comfortable and varied cruise program that combines diving with a view of wildlife in their natural habitat. This combination will surely satisfy those committed to either sport.

This vast world Heritage listed wilderness includes approximately 45,000km2 of marine habitat including reefs and volcanic outcorps. Drift diving through the Panaitan Straits or exploring the volcanic rock reefs of Tanjung Layer make for memorable diving. The reefs are some of the richest in the region in terms of variety and abundance of fish and other marine life. Not just diving, take a canoe trip up the Cigenter river into the heart of the jungle and see if you can spot some of the regions unique wildlife such as the rare Java Rhino or the wild Bali Cattle.

The tour can directly from Jakarta to the park at the same day or you can overnight in Carita hotel before to  go to the
Ujung Kulon at the next morning, for transport from Jakarta we could prepare or You can drive by your own car to Carita

DAY  01.CARITA - BADUL ISLAND - HANDELEUM ISLAND  - PEUCANG ISLAND
After breakfast at 8: 00  board the fast boat (cruising) on Sunda strait water passes through coastal village  with beautiful view mainland of Java to Handeleum island in situated among a group of small island just off the north eastern coast of the Ujung kulon peninsula take 2 hours,  stop over at small island  Badul island  for  diving which is surrounded by a good reef. You enter the water from about 15 meters off Badul’s west shore,  and an easy drift dive takes you about 3/4 of a kilometer  before your air runs out. Coral growth around the island is not spectacular, but the variety of both hard and soft corals  was good. Visibility during our dive was less than 8 meters. DAY  02. PEUCANG ISLAND  
After breakfast at 8 : 00 am we walk (trekking) north on Peucang island passes through towering forest to a rock archway beyond which are the reef pools of Karang Copong, keep your eyes look up as sometime you will find the black monkey, hornbill, javan civet, giant squirrel take 3 hours, than continue to Karang jajar this site is on the rocks off large Penietan Island’s Karang Jajar cape. It is an hour by boat from the ranger station at Peucang. If conditions are right, a drift dive off the south stretch offers a good, and very colorful growth of coral. You drop to 15 meters, an then drift east with a gentle current to a maximum of 20 meter. Below you, the wall plunges to past 40 meters. Turtles frequent the area, and we saw too many stingrays to count. back than continue to Cidaon situated on the peninsula opposite island, this large grassland for Wild bulls, wild pig, peafowl, leopard etc, over night at Fauna Eco lodge, dinner time will be served at 7: 00 PM (free program).

DAY  03. PEUCANG ISLAND
After breakfast continue diving at Karang Copong this is a small island within sight of the northwest tip of Peucang island. The highlight of this shallow (to 12 meters) dive are tunnels in the rock that lead to caves in the island. Seeing schools of fish swimming in and out these tunnels is a surprisingly breathtaking experience. Visibility is 20 meters. back to lodge than return trip (cruising) to Sumur or Carita, lunch will be served on the  boat, end the trip

DAY  03. PEUCANG ISLAND
After breakfast at 8:00 a.m  taking the boat to Cibom than (trekking) the direct route to Ciramea travel through magnificence rain forest to shelter at the southern end of Ciramea beach one of the most nice beaches at the park by jungle and Indian ocean us background, beautiful sand stone which are formed naturally can be seen, this sand coastline is the egg - aying site for Turtle, keep your eyes look up as sometime you will find the black monkey, hornbill, javan civet, giant squirrel take 4 hours, back to Peucang island via Tanjung Layar  the historical site (lunch/rest) than continue for dive at Tanjung Layar lighthouse on tip of Ujung Kulon is the landmark for triangulating a rocky dive location off the west point of the peninsula. Expect swells to rock your dive boat, heavy surface current, and unusually cool water temperatures. Beneath the surface, however, the sea is surprisingly calm. The visibility is quite good, around 20 meters. The rocks that jut just above the water plunge underneath the surface to 30 meters, looking just like submerged mountains. Coral is scarce, but in the underwater valleys there were large barracuda, schools of fusiliers and other medium-sized fish, and platoons of bumphead parrotfish. We also saw turtles circling the submerged rocks and a fat, nosey reef whitetip shark. Overnight

DAY  03. PEUCANG ISLAND
After breakfast continue diving at Karang Copong this is a small island within sight of the north west tip of Peucang island.
